I am wanting to know how to make a good and sturdy grappling hook, I have tryied various sites on the web. I need it to be able to support a great deal of weight, 200+ lbs. I don't have alot of supplies, so if you have any ideas, designs, or just some web sites that could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

-Thanks,

well i hope you know how to weld aluminum. the best way is to make stripes of I beams about 4 in total 12inch long and 3 to 4 inch wide and weld them all like a umbrella with a cross member for support.. that has not been opened up all the way almost like the shape pf an arrow. if you need more info let me know

try picking one up at Army surplus they are cheap I got one there Although they really arent that usefull. there is always a better way to rig up you cant really throw them higher than about 20ft and even if they catch on something there is no way of knowing if its secure the pop loose often and come shooting down if your using at as a release for a rappel I suggest a double rope rappell instead and then just pull your line threw when your down. Good luck anyway
